The local island Guraidhoo is located in the South Male atoll, about 3 hours by traditional Dhoni or about 45 minutes by speed boat from Male.

It is a typical fishing island with about 2,300 inhabitants, sandy roads and palm trees. You can walk around Guraidhoo in approx. 30min and watch the locals going after their daily routine.

At the local shipyard you can watch the carpenters traditionally constructing the typical local dhoni boats in all sizes and admire original craftsmanship.
