The biggest local island of the South Male atoll is located on the East side of the atoll. It is approximately 675 meters long and 500 meters wide. You can cross over the lagoon by foot reaching Kandooma Resort.

The 2.300 inhabitants are mostly fishermen, boat builders or other craftsmen.
